MTH has a new album out. Their first one in 6 years.
It's awesome.
It has a few old songs that were included in previous singles, such as "tsume tsume tsume". You can find some of those translations on this blog.
The album comes packaged as a manga instead of a lyrics booklet, with story written by Ryokun and drawn by famous manga artists.
Doing a translation of the manga as a whole would be a really cool project. I have never done a manga translation before but if anyone wants to help me with that let me know. (for example, transcribe the Japanese). I recommend anyone who likes this band to get the CD because you just can't appreciate the album just by downloading the songs. The manga has a ton of content that helps understand the background of MTH and Ryokun.
I have translated the Track 1 from this album, "Yoshu Fukushu".
Ryo-kun stated in the manga that he already "completed the story" of Maximum the Hormone with the previous albums. So the next step to take was obvious, Episode Zero. (Many famous mangas publish an "episode zero" later in the series as a bonus that describes the origin of certain characters.)
His "episode zero" is none other than junior high school. The best and the worst part of adolescence and the subject of many a manga in Japan.
